Olamide Opens Up On Almost Quitting Music, Inspiration Behind ‘Ikigai’ Album 



Nigerian rapper and singer Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide, speaks about his music career after four years.

In an interview with entertainment journalist Ounmou, Olamide revealed he considered shifting his focus entirely to songwriting but eventually realized that music was his true calling.

Olamide’s latest album, Ikigai Album has been making waves both on social media and out of social media , particularly with hits tracks like “Hello Habibi” and “Metaverse.” The Japanese concept of Ikigai, which means living a life of purpose, resonated deeply with Olamide during his period of introspection.

Apparently, the singer’s last album, Carpe Diem, was released in 2020, and Olamide has now returned with a renewed passion for music. Additionally, he credits his realization that music is his purpose in life for inspiring his comeback.

Also, Olamide’s honesty about his struggles and triumphs has endeared him to fans. Lastly, Ikigai is proof of his continued relevance in Nigeria’s music industry.
