Political Scientist, Sunny Obim Sets to become Chairman of Boki Local Government
The time is ripe for the good people of Boki to collectively insist on the best form of governance that will be all inclusive, proactive in its policies and implementations, a government that yearns for the resourceful engagement & development of it’s youth, a government that is willing and ready to listen to the plight and the yearning of it’s people, and taking great steps to alleviate them from their fears and suffering,…….. IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE THE GOOD PEOPLE OF BOKI AS THE CHAIRMAN OF COUNCIL, MY BLUE PRINT WILL BE… The Hall mark of our administration is to promote and encourage education in the L.G.A, free education will be given from primary school to JSS3, with our team we will make sure every child that is out of school will return back to school and taken proper care of… Scholarship will be given at all stages, debates and quiz competition will highly be promoted in all schools in the L.G.A. Through wide consultation with the stake holders and my legislators, we will amend some bye laws that will favor and accommodate the common man.
We will establish in each clan youth executives through the local chiefs that will make it easier for the youths to be involved in decision making in the council. We (The team) will line up a development plan that will promote sustainable development, by constantly promoting local content and businesses. Markets will be built in each clan of the local government to enable the farmers make sales of their products. We will promote and encourage gender equality in all areas, so that all will have a sense of belonging.
Entrepreneurial skill acquisition and development will take the lead in our administration through partnership with public and private sectors or NGOs. The time is ripe… Lets make this happen. OBIM SUNDAY is the ANSWER… Roads and bridges will be constructed so as to link Boki 1 & 2 to further foster unity and peace amongst us.
