Nigerian singer Ololade Ahmed, widely known as Asake, has made history as the first African artist to reach the top of the global Spotify debut chart.
One of the smartest Afrobeat act in Nigeria, Asake, has achieved a great milestone with his newly released third studio album, “Lungu Boy”, which soared to number one on the Spotify global chart.
Lungu Boy, a 15-track album, with great features from act around the world which includes, Wizkid, Travis Scott, Stormzy, Central Cee and Ludmilla, broke the record for the biggest first-day streams for an African album on Spotify.
The album garnered 9.42 million streams on the Global Spotify Chart on its first day.
One of the standout tracks from the album ‘MMS’ featuring Wizkid, broke the record for the biggest first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria with 870,000 streams.
